The Portuguese association Mais Proximidade, Melhor Vida (which translates to More Proximity, Better Life) gives support to more that 120 elders who live in isolation in downtown Lisbon and Mouraria. The group works with professionals like social workers and provides help to it's associates like taking them to see healthcare or to the hairdresser. During June, 2020, visits where few and far between given the spread of Covid-19. Trying to break that loneliness, the association sought the help of local volunteer photographers to take portraits of the elderly, while keeping them company for a few moments.
